Aave's own MCP server, introduced September 8, 2026, is a remote Streamable HTTP server with no authentication. Aave's docs group its tools into protocol reads (chains, markets, reserve details, APY and protocol history), action builders for supply, borrow, withdraw, repay and collateral, swap quotes, Savings GHO and DAO governance. It never holds keys or signs: action tools return an unsigned transaction or EIP-712 typed data for the user's own wallet.

Caveats

  • Endpoint and transport are verbatim from Aave's getting-started docs, which also give the Claude Code command: claude mcp add --transport http aave https://mcp.aave.com
  • Vendor-verified only. Tool behavior is documented by Aave and has not been independently tested.
  • Prepares real on-chain transactions. Signing happens in the user's wallet, but a signed transaction is irreversible; review every one before signing.
  • No authentication means no per-user scoping. Aave's docs state no rate limits or pricing; do not assume either.
  • DeFi protocol risk applies: smart-contract, liquidation and oracle risk are outside any advisor's control. Custody and suitability rules for client digital assets still apply.
  • Research-grade for most advisory use. Start with the read tools only and do not connect a wallet holding client assets.

Remote server: paste a URL

Aave MCP publishes a remote (Streamable HTTP) endpoint, so nothing is installed locally. Add it as a custom connector in Claude, ChatGPT or your IDE and paste the endpoint below.

Step 2

Authenticate with no credentials

No credentials are required for public data. Rate limits still apply, so avoid bulk pulls from a chat client.

Step 3

Verify, then widen access

Restart your client, confirm the server's tools appear, and run one read-only question first. Keep client-side approval prompts on for any tool that can write, trade or send. Confirm with your firm's compliance policy before connecting systems holding client data.

Show acquisition date, disposal date, proceeds, basis and the source tool for each line, and flag every transaction where basis is missing, inferred, or disagrees between the exchange and the books. Do not file, submit, amend or post any journal entry. This is a working draft for the tax preparer.
