Schwab Advisor Center for Claude

Charles Schwab · Custody & Clearing · Brokerage & Trade Execution

MCP ServerVendor

Official Schwab Advisor Services partnership with Anthropic, announced September 14, 2026, bringing Claude for Financial Advisors and its MCP-based connectors to the 16,000-plus independent RIAs Schwab custodies for. RIAs reach Schwab Advisor Center from Claude through an authenticated connection, alongside the CRM, planning, portfolio reporting, estate planning and meeting tools they already use, so custodial data can be queried conversationally without leaving Schwab's systems. Schwab describes itself as the first RIA custodian included in the offering. Schwab frames this as a partnership and integration rather than a published server: unlike Orion and Wealth.com it releases no endpoint, transport, tool list or scope detail, so the technical depth here is materially lighter than those two.

Caveats

  • This is Schwab's own, and is unrelated to the separate community-built "Charles Schwab Brokerage" listing in this directory, which is unofficial software Schwab did not write or support.
  • No published technical specification. Schwab releases no MCP endpoint, install command, transport, tool list or scope breakdown, so hosting and connection details are unconfirmed and no scope claim can be checked.
  • Vendor-verified only, and thinner than the other two launch partners. Everything above comes from Schwab's press release and press coverage of it.
  • Announcement, not confirmed general availability. Rollout timing, eligibility and pricing for Schwab-custodied RIAs were not specified. Confirm with your Schwab team before planning around it.
  • Custodial data reached through an assistant still needs the same handling as any client data. Start with read-only scopes and confirm what an authenticated Advisor Center connection actually exposes.
  • Whether trading or other write actions are in scope is unstated. Do not assume read-only, and do not assume execution.

How to connect Schwab Advisor Center for Claude

Step 1

Check the vendor's documentation

This listing does not publish a public endpoint or install command yet. Open the vendor documentation above for access details, then follow the general steps in our connection guide.

Step 2

Authenticate with OAuth

Your client opens a browser sign-in with the vendor. Approve only the scopes you need, and use a read-only account first when the platform offers one.

Step 3

Verify, then widen access

Restart your client, confirm the server's tools appear, and run one read-only question first. Keep client-side approval prompts on for any tool that can write, trade or send. Confirm with your firm's compliance policy before connecting systems holding client data.

Prompts that use this server

Starter prompts from the Practice Stacks that rely on Custody & Clearing.

Funding and transfer-in reconciliation

Confirm the money actually landed and matches expectations.

Onboard a ClientCustody & ClearingBanking & Account Aggregation

Read-only: compare the expected funding for <client name> in CRM against the incoming transfers visible in the custody and account-aggregation tools. Show expected vs. received amounts, dates, account numbers masked to the last four digits, and flag any mismatch or missing transfer. Do not initiate, cancel or modify any transfer or trade. Cite which tool each figure came from so I can spot-check it.

Guardrail · Read-only. Verify figures at the source before they reach a client document.

Allocation drift report

Which accounts have drifted and by how much.

Trade & RebalanceWealth PlatformsCustody & Clearing

Read-only: compare current allocations against target models across my accounts, using the wealth platform for targets and modelled positions and the custodial feed for actual settled holdings and cash. List every position or sleeve drifted beyond <tolerance, e.g. 3%> as Account / Sleeve / Target / Actual / Drift / Estimated trade size, and separately flag any holding or cash balance where the platform and the custodian disagree, since that breaks the drift math. Do not place, stage, cancel or modify any order. Cite the tool behind each figure.

Guardrail · Read-only. Never grant trading scopes to a tool that only needs to report.

Tax-lot and wash-sale check

A flag list before trades are placed.

Trade & RebalanceCustody & ClearingMarket & Financial Data

Read-only: for the proposed sells in <account>, review tax lots at the custodian and flag short-term gains, large realised gains, and any purchase in the last 30 days that could create a wash sale. Then use market-data tools to value each lot at the latest available price and to check for splits, mergers or other corporate actions that would change basis or share count. Output Symbol / Lot / Acquired / Basis / Market value / Gain-loss / Flag / Source. Do not place or modify trades. Tell me where the data may be delayed or incomplete.

Guardrail · Read-only. Confirm lot data with the custodian before acting on it.
