Official server

Does Alpaca have an MCP server?

Yes. Alpaca publishes an MCP server for brokerage, orders and market data, with paper trading available for testing before using a funded account.

The first-party repository is https://github.com/alpacahq/alpaca-mcp-server. Order placement is a core capability, not an incidental feature. The repository's tool definitions and your account permissions determine what is enabled; this review did not test a live brokerage connection.

Start with read-only scopes and paper-trading credentials. Store and rotate API keys securely, and require explicit confirmation before any real order. Execution tools do not replace firm supervision or suitability procedures. A directory listing is not an endorsement.
