Official server
Does Databricks have an MCP server?
Yes. Databricks documents official MCP support for agent frameworks, including hosting custom MCP servers on Databricks and connecting external MCP tools to Unity Catalog-backed agents, at https://docs.databricks.com/aws/en/generative-ai/mcp/.
This is a platform capability for building and hosting MCP servers inside Databricks and wiring Unity Catalog governance to them, rather than a single fixed Databricks endpoint you connect to. What any particular deployment exposes depends entirely on how a firm's own Databricks workspace configures it.
Unity Catalog governance is the control point: access should follow the same permissions a user already has in the lakehouse, but confirm that mapping directly against current Databricks documentation rather than assuming it from this summary, since agent-framework support areas move quickly. This is informational, not an endorsement of any specific deployment. Start with read-only scopes where supported and keep client-side approval prompts on.
